EMPLOYEE QUOTES AND FEEDBACK

“I think that it is very refreshing to hear from Andrew in this straight-forward and down-to-earth manner.  It is important that all employees have a chance to speak with our most senior leadership...”

“Keep it going.  I know Mr. Liveris is busy, but this helps me keep feeling connected since I am in the field…”

“This communication between Andrew and employees is AWESOME.  Employees who read some of the comments can get a feel for what things are like in other areas, and that they are not the only ones with questions.”

“I think the idea of a blog is quite remarkable. It provides employees at all levels with a sense of closeness to those who are charged with the company's direction and strategy. I look forward to the personal and professional insight that this blog will provide employees.”

“Having a blog site to chat with the CEO is ample proof that Dow is at the forefront of technology and openness when compared to other multinationals. Sitting far away, on another continent, one can still reach out to Midland Headquarters and Dow employees worldwide to discuss issues - it gives a feeling of being part of the same family.”

“This was a great move in providing yet another door of communication. As we can see by all the comments, everyone seems to have a positive outlook on blogging. I think that this form of communication being web based provides a somewhat realtime response compared to some other forms of communication like email or even phone.”

“This blogging has been an interesting learning experience for me. During this journey somehow my attitude changed. In the beginning I saw Andrew standing there in front of 43,000 people and I just wanted to grill him. But then Andrew kept sending his blog entries and kept encouraging blogging. Then I realized that there stands a man in front of us who sincerely wants to understand and learn. Since then I try harder to contribute also because there are so many things that make me proud to work for this company. I try to contribute by delivering a small suggestion for improvement every now and then. I see that many of you want to contribute too. There are remarkable learnings in those blogs. I thought that after 17 years I started to understand this company. But I do realize now that I did not know anything. If we could make some of those individual learning experiences collective or even global learning experiences, we create feedback loops we never had before. Then we can transform this whole company into one big winning team.”
